The Bing search box is still coming on Windows 10’s lockscreen
We’ve already reported a couple of months back that the tech giant is working on adding a new Bing search tool to the Windows 10 lockscreen with Windows 10 20H1 build 18932. Now, the feature was spotted again in Windows 10 build 18970:
— Albacore (@thebookisclosed) September 1, 2019 The Bing search box in the bottom left corner seems similar with the search box from the Taskbar and because of its positioning, the time and date have been move to the top left corner. We don’t know very much about the new search box, as Microsoft didn’t shared any details about it.
Windows 10 users hate the idea of a Bing search box
The most interesting thing is if the search results will be displayed on the lock screen or you’ll have to login to see them. We’ll just have to wait and, hopefully soon, see how it works. The Bing-powered search box on the Windows 10 lockscreen seen in build 18970 raised a lot of eyebrows in the Windows community, as the majority don’t like the implementation and use scenarios: What do you think of a Bing search box on Windows 10’s lockscreen? Maybe they are experimenting with an option to search the internet from the lockscreen? If so I can’t imagine the search box staying there. Either way seems a little pointless?
