Yesterday, a Teaser Trailer for the highly anticipated third-person shooter video game Gears 5 was posted on YouTube. The trailer starts off by introducing a new game mode called “Arcade Mode”, a brand new type of Versus experience for all types of players. The goal of Arcade mode is to pit two teams against each other and the first team to reach 50 kills wins.
What can we tell so far?
The trailer demonstrates a few of the mechanics, some of which are:
Firepower getting increased by killing opponents, in what seems to be a form of leveling system Spectacular finishing moves for opponents that are low on health.
Like all previous Gears of War titles, the game is filled with mature elements such as blood and gore, intense violence and strong language, so user discretion is advised. As with all previous installments, the trailer mustn’t be taken too seriously. This is due to the many occasions where you alternate between looking in awe at the bloody visuals and laughing at whatever the characters are doing or saying. The trailer looks promising as far as the visuals go, especially considering that this is footage from a game still in development.
