Last month, Microsoft addressed this issue and declared the new Outlook.com would be available for everybody by the end of this August. By now, it is pretty clear that they’ll miss that deadline. Now the company is expected to finish with the upgrade sometime in the first half of 2017. There is also a message about this in the Outlook Calendar’s Share dialong that says that during the upgrade, users will not be able to share their calendar with some of the accounts. However, you will be able to send a link to it by clicking on the “Get a link” option. Even so, it’s not that surprising this update is taking so long. In April, Jon Orton, Director of Marketing at Outlook, declared this upgrade is not just a facelift. It also brings some new features and a new design, along with a new infrastructure based on Office 365. This means the new version will be more reliable and more secure. It remains to be seen whether Microsoft will keep to their renewed deadline in the first half of the next year or if they will take more than two years to complete the rollout.
