It is used in several Office 365 apps such as Word or Outlook with the purpose of checking spelling, tone of voice, and overall correctness of your copy. A few days ago, Microsoft has announced a few improvements for Editor, which should make the tool more straightforward, one-click use for suggestions and changes.
Quicker access to clear, correct copy
With the specified purpose of simplifying the Editor, the developers have improved the interface with quicker suggstions to get to the desired result. The updates can be summarized as follows:
Left or right-click grammar suggestions (spelling, tone & other intelligent suggestions) Shift+F10 or Alt+Down shortcut on any underlines word for full Editor suggestions Overall more focus on suggestions. Easier access to review experience.
The new interface will co-exist with former shortcuts to suggestions (simple right-click or Shift+F10), so as not to affect the users’ productivity, Microsoft mentioned. For a start, the left-click suggestions are visible for Outlook users running the Beta Channel Version 2010 or later. It is going to be introduced for Word users running Version 2010 (Build 13328.20000) ) or later. Those that have installed the Office suite on Macs will also been able to enjoy the new options pretty soon.
