Meet Carmel, Microsoft’s upcoming foldable Surface Pro
It seems that the Surface Pro 6th generation will be codenamed Carmel. The foldable device that will be running Windows 10 and was called the Surface Phone by some voices in the tech space will make its debut by the end of 2018. The much-awaited device will be probably launched as part of a brand new device ecosystem launch.
New details emerge about Andromeda
Redmond is reportedly hoping to launch Andromeda with a little help coming from OEMs. This means that it won’t be an isolated launch, but instead, it will probably be a launch that involves a new form factor that will be supported by various OEMs.
Refreshing the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop
So. it seems that the Surface Pro 6 will be code-named Carmel and the new less expensive 10-inch Surface will bear the name Libra. The Surface Studio 2 is currently codenamed Capitola, and the Surface Phone is codenamed Andromeda. ZDNet’s Mary Jo Foley noted that the tech giant might consider revamping the current Surface Pro and Surface Laptop with Intel’s 8th gen CPUs. This whole revamping does not necessarily have to be a next-generation product, and it could be just called the Surface Pro with a new CPU. Availability Unfortunately, the precise date that these products will be released is not known yet. All of them are supposed to reach the market this year or probably the next.
