Microsoft RDS
The Microsoft Remote Desktop Solution lets you access a remotely-hosted Windows desktop environment or app from any device you have. Already available are Remote Desktop clients for Windows, Windows 10 S, iOS, and Android, and now Microsoft is adding support for a HTML5 browser-delivered experience. This will allow you to access your Windows apps from virtually any device that runs an HTML5 browser.
Cloud readiness and enhanced security for RDS-hosted environments
Fortunately, Microsoft is making sure also to improve the safety of RDS-hosted environments. For instance, you can now use Azure AD for Multifactor Authentication, Conditional Access policies, and Integrated authentication with more SaaS apps. You’ll also get the ability to receive security signals from the Intelligent Security Graph. This way, you will be able to take advantage of the elasticity and scaling capable with Azure. In addition, the new Diagnostics role will help you monitor your deployment more efficiently. Microsoft is also isolating the infrastructure functions including Web, Gateway, Connection Broker and more from the desktop and app deployment hosts to enhance the security of virtualized environments. In other words, the company is adding another layer of separation for higher security. RDS has had the flexibility to run cross-platform desktop and mobile OS’ using apps for a long time, but now the future support for HTML5 browser-delivered experiences will turn out to be a great addition.
