Microsoft received some useful user feedback from the previously released preview version. The company decided to implement new features in this SDK based on user feedback. As a matter of fact, users can run WebView (32-bit version) on 64-bit systems. Some other features are “the ability to disable the dev tools and status bar”. Microsoft understands there are many developers who will not adopt WebView 2. It is because WebView 2 is based on new Microsoft Edge and web standards. There are some functionalities that are available in WebView but not in the newer version. Microsoft wants to improve the existing capabilities of WebView 2 in the future. The Microsoft Office team is working to develop new add-ins experience for Office applications. The new add-ins will be released soon.
