Microsoft said that all the apps added by users using Windows 8.1 Preview will have to to be reinstalled after upgrading to the final version of Windows 8.1. Of course, many Zone Alarm users have updated to Windows 8.1 from the Preview version, reinstalled the app and some of them even got corrupted software in the end, like it was the case with McAfee users, according to some posting on Zone Alarm’s forums. For other, ZoneAlarm’s products were crashing, hanging or just stopped working.

Zone Alarm Firewall, Internet Security, and AntiVirus get Windows 8.1 support

Online users have been reporting similar problems have with Symantec’s Norton Internet Security suite. And this is definitely not Microsoft’s fault as the company gave developers like Check Point more than a month ahead to prepare for the Windows 8.1 launch. Now, finally, Zone Alarm has announced that support for Windows 8.1 has been made available. Free and paid ZoneAlarm products have been updated to version 12.0.104.000 which comes with:

    New feature: Windows 8.1 support     Updated feature: Antivirus engine     Improved feature: AV detection
